The Ghana Museums and Monuments Board (GMMB) proudly announces the upcoming celebration of Ghanaian culture in March with the theme “Sustainability, Heritage, and Tourism – United in Diversity.” This month-long extravaganza, held in partnership with Asaase Inscriptions, aims to commemorate Ghana’s rich cultural heritage and promote unity through diversity.
March holds special significance in Ghana’s history as it marks both the declaration of independence and the foundation of pan-Africanism. This month provides an opportunity to reflect on our history, celebrate our cultural diversity, and assess the present to preserve our collective culture for future generations.
Heritage Month 2024 aims to raise awareness of Ghana’s cultural heritage among the Ghanaian public, visitors, and prospective tourists. Through a variety of activities such as in-person interactions, social media campaigns, film screenings, and storytelling sessions, we seek to educate and inspire audiences about Ghana’s rich cultural tapestry.
Heritage Month 2024 will feature a diverse range of activities catering to various audiences, including students, diasporans, corporate Ghana, expatriate communities, and prospective investors. From the official launch and museum tours to traditional dance performances, heritage tours, and food festivals, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
Throughout the celebration, we’ll encourage active participation from the community through forums and discussions on topics related to Ghanaian heritage, history, and cultural preservation. Collaborations with schools, cultural associations, and government agencies will further promote a deeper understanding and appreciation of Ghana’s rich cultural heritage.
Heritage Month 2024 will take place from March 1st to March 31st at the premises of the Ghana Museums and Monuments Board headquarters. Join us as we celebrate everything Ghanaian – from the taste of our cuisine to the sights and sounds of our cultural performances.
Whether you’re a local resident, a visitor to Ghana, or a member of the diaspora, we invite you to join us in celebrating Ghana’s cultural heritage during Heritage Month 2024. Stay tuned for more updates and event details on our website and social media channels.
