Welcome to GMMB

Revision of Entrance Fees

We are pleased to announce that the Ghana Museums and Monuments Board (GMMB) is implementing a revised structure for entrance fees to its museums and monuments across the country, effective from 1st July. This strategic decision aims to enhance the accessibility and sustainability of these cultural treasures while ensuring their long-term preservation and continued educational value for both Ghanaians and visitors from around the world.

Ghana is a country rich in cultural heritage, with a diverse history that spans several centuries. The museums and monuments under the stewardship of the GMMB play a pivotal role in preserving and showcasing this heritage. They serve as custodians of Ghana’s past, offering a glimpse into the lives, traditions, and achievements of our ancestors.

Recognizing the significance of these cultural institutions as educational resources and sources of national pride, the GMMB is committed to ensuring their accessibility to all. With the revised entrance fee structure, we aim to strike a balance between generating revenue for maintenance and operations, while also making these treasures more accessible to the general public.

The revised fee structure has been thoughtfully designed to cater to different segments of society, while also considering the financial sustainability of the museums and monuments. The revised rates take into account factors such as age, nationality, and visitor type, ensuring a fair and inclusive approach.
